Founder
Spanish Society was founded by Georgina Palencia, a Venezuelan academic, cultural director, and stage creator based in Houston.
Her career integrates university experience in Venezuela, cultural management, research on migration and identity, and artistic and academic leadership in Houston.
Her continental experience spans Latin America and the United States, shaping an institution that understands language as a cultural territory and a space for encounter.
Our History
Houston is a city built by immigrants.
A city deeply marked by Hispanic presence.
Spanish is not a foreign language here.
It is memory, heritage, and bridge.
Spanish Society emerges at that intersection:
between those who want to learn Spanish,
those who wish to reconnect with their heritage,
and those who need bilingual leadership in an interdependent world.
Spanish Society is a bridge between the Americas.
Between languages.
Between generations.
